Foreword by CESARE FIORIO

WITH AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH ENGINEER GIAMPAOLO DALLARA

The Beta Montecarlo, LC1 and LC2 were the three Lancias that, between the late 1970s and the very early 1980s, took the glorious Italian marque back to the tracks throughout the world, succeeding in conquering the World Endurance Championship for Makes in 1980 and 1981. They were piloted by a number of Italian drivers who were also making names for themselves in Formula 1 in those years, including Michele Alboreto, Riccardo Patrese, Piercarlo Ghinzani, Alessandro Nannini and Teo Fabi, to mention but a few, captained by the great Cesare Fiorio.
This new book by Sergio Remondino and Vittorio Roberti is dedicated to those cars and those men, a book that takes its place alongside the further two works focusing on the Group B Lancias and the golden age of the marque in the World Rally Championship.
The winning formula is unchanged: the technical and sporting history of the various cars alternating with invaluable and frequently unpublished photographic material, much of which drawn from the archive of Reinhard Klein.
The book is also enhanced by an exclusive interview with Giampaolo Dallara and the outstanding drawings of Alessandro Cordasco.
